Be of good cheer

Everyday I try to start my day off on a good note amongst all that I need to do in a day.  I start it out by reading out of the Book of Mormon.  I am currently reading in the book of 3 Nephi.  I'm currently in the first chapter of 3 Nephi.  As I was reading I came a verse and these few words have been with me through the day.  3 Nephi 1:13 - "Lift up your head and be of good cheer..."  These words have been with me through the amongst all the other things I was working on.

Today was a difficult day.  I can't go into too many details with the world as to what happen.  The details stay behind lock doors and are kept that way.  I have been contemplating the answer to some of the problems of today.  When the pressures of life have come, today the following hymn comes to mind.  The words go as follows:

"When upon life's billows you are tempest- tossed, When you are discouraged thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings; name them one by one, And it will surprise your what the Lord has done.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your blessings; See what God hath done.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?  Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?  Count your many blessings; ev-'ry doubt will fly, And you will be singing as the days go by.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your blessings; See what God hath done.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.

When you look at others with their lands and gold, Think that Christ has promised you his wealth untold.  Count your many blessings; money cannot buy Your reward in heaven nor your home on high.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your blessings; See what God hath done.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.

So amid the conflict, whether great or small, Do not be discouraged; God is over all.  Count your many blessings; angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your blessings; See what God hath done.  Count your blessings; Name them one by one.  Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.  "

~Hymn No. 241 - Count Your Blessings~

So remember when life gets hard, Count your many blessings.............

Good night!!! Be of good cheer!!!

Purple is cool!

I love purple and I loved purple for years. Back in high school, I started liking purple because of the gelly roll pen. Ever since then I've been a fan of it. Back when I used to sell men's clothing, I was told that men that wore purple and short hair were most times gay in New York. But with this latest posted article it proves otherwise. It's cool and add's color to the blah blah of men's clothing. After all it's a symbol of royalty right?

Online break ups?

I was watching a television show tonight.  In this particular show, the female character finds out that her boyfriend said he was going to stay in the night and not go anywhere.  Well her sister looks up online and finds her sister's boyfriend and some other girl posted on a social network.  She decides she's had enough with him and her reaction is to make a break up video.  What has happened to traditional dating and breaking up in person at least? Has it gone online and become mainstream to be ok to break up with someone online?  I think breaking up would be best in person.  Any other way would be cowardly.  It shows a lack of respect.  I think we need to have a return to traditional practices of dating.  I wish there could be a return to those practices without letting online virtual world to becoming our world!!  What are your thoughts?

Taking care of your employees

I was watching a recent episode of  Hell on Wheels.  Doc has run into money  financial problems and is having hard time securing credit to continue to pay the employees.  He then leaves it for his foreman,
Cullen Bohannon to deal with the men in trying to keep them working on the rail.  In the meantime, the men figure out what is going on.  I hope that I'm never put into this situation.  I believe taking care of your employees is number 1 important next to making all the bills and ending with a profit at the end of the day.  We ask ourselves why do we need to care for our employees?? I like to believe as we care for the employees we are building loyalty with the employees and in the long run, we are able to keep them happy.  Keeping them happy means less turn over!! (You can only hope!!) Well, as I've always been told pay isn't everything so learn to treat your staff and employees right and they will stand by your side for the long haul!!
